The Rio de Janeiro Tax Reform Commssion (“Commission”) was created by Governor Wilson Witzel through Decree No. 46,573, of February 12 2019. In accordance with article 3 (ii) of this Decree, Sergio André Rocha was appointed as the Commission’s rapporteur. The focus of the Commission’s work is to present technical studies that can be converted into proposals for the improvement of the country’s tax system in all levels (federal, state, and municipal). Daniel Tocci was accepted as an LLM candidate at the Advanced Master’s in International Tax Law (LLM), which is jointly coordinated by IBFD and the University of Amsterdam. In the school year of 2018/2019 he will focus on studies on international taxation in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Sergio André was invited to become one of the editors of Kluwer International Tax Blog. This online portal, of the prestigious publisher Kluwer, gathers articles – available with no charge – covering some of the most relevant and current topics of international taxation. During the fist semester of 2018, Sergio André Rocha will teach the subject “BEPS and Brazil” in the Professional Masters on International Taxation and Development of the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law in São Paulo.

Ana Carolina Barreto was accepted into the Masters in Public Finance, Taxation and Development at the Rio de Janeiro State University.
